Open Doors. Open Minds.
Open Hearts.
Our church doors have been open in the Lakeview neighborhood since 1883. We believe God loves us just as we are and calls us to be and do more than ever before.
There’s a place for you here.
Whoever you are and however you describe yourself, we really do try to welcome you and see you like God does – beautifully created in the image of one who loves us and frees us to serve.
Resurrection Lutheran Church (RLC) is a vibrant, welcoming congregation in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood that also offers preschool for 2-5 year olds.
We are a unique, progressive community of young adults, families, and older adults.
We're a Reconciling in Christ congregation that welcomes, affirms and includes all people. Our mission is to invite, include, involve, and inspire people in Christ.
At Resurrection, you’ll find opportunities to study God’s word, serve our local and global neighbors, and gather in community/fellowship with others.

Ministry
RLC is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), a Christian denomination with 3.7 million members in 9,300 congregations across the U.S. and in the Caribbean region. As members of the ELCA, we believe that we are freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbors.

Community
Inspired by our faith in Christ, we are a church that is engaged in the community. Resurrection Lutheran Church (RLC) serves in a variety of ways, distributing meals to neighbors who are hungry, welcoming and supporting new Americans through RefugeeOne or raising funds for the relief and development work for the ELCA.
Chicago Pride Parade alongside other members of the Chicago Coalition of Welcoming Churches.
We award grants through our Mission Endowment Fund every winter.
Although our community outreach activities are constantly evolving, one thing is constant—our heart for social justice.
